Highlights
The team at VoPay is seeing tremendous growth with our platform that allows every company to be a FinTech. Part of this growth includes my Solutions Consulting team. I'm looking for someone that enjoys sitting in the pocket between product and sales helping our go-to market teams close more effectively. If you know anyone that has payments experience and fits this profile, reach out to me.
As has been the case for many of you, earlier this year, Lindsay Hyde and I decided to purchase a new home. After going to a number of showings in Metro Vancouver, we found our match...a townhouse in White Rock, BC that we absolutely loved.
This was a new build, something we were actually okay with as we both liked the feeling of starting with a blank slate and add our own touches of customization to the home.
This was our first home - and we knew that it would be a learning experience. Now, a few months later, the learning is ongoing but the biggest takeaway for me is that the real-estate buying experience is broken, one-sided in favour of the home builder and deliberately opaque.
You see, for the last few years, I thought I had seen old-school processes in the fintech world that were being disrupted and I thought to myself "surely this is the most backward and slow-moving space one could be in".
I stand corrected - the situation is even worse in real estate and therein lies an opportunity to improve the lives of new home buyers.
#proptech here I come.
If you've recently bought a new home and want to vent, message me. I'll be back with more updates soon!
