Before venturing into entrepreneurship, Karen held various esteemed positions that allowed her to cultivate her passion for health, fitness, and environmental education. Her role as the Physical Education Director for grades JK-8th at Marymount of Santa Barbara was integral in shaping young minds through physical education and wellness initiatives. With a strong background in fitness, she has also worked as a Pilates trainer at Fit Buddha, where she empowered clients through mindful movement practices, and as a yoga and Pilates instructor at the Women's Athletic Club and the Santa Barbara Athletic Club.
Karen’s commitment to outdoor adventures is showcased through her experience as the Outdoor Adventure, Health and Environment Retreat Director at SOMA Get Fit, where she designed programs that promoted healthy living and active lifestyles. Additionally, her role as Education Director of the Ambassadors of the Environment programs at Cousteau Ocean Futures Society was pivotal in engaging young learners in ocean conservation and awareness.
Her early career as a Marine Biology Researcher at the University of California, Santa Barbara, reinforced her knowledge of marine ecosystems and solidified her commitment to environmental stewardship. Karen’s practical experience includes instructing kayaking and sailing at the Santa Barbara Sailing Center, where she encouraged individuals to engage with the beautiful coastal waters of California.

To further enhance her expertise, Karen pursued studies at the Institute of Integrative Nutrition, where she honed her skills in health coaching, nutrition, and wellness.
