Karen has been involved in founding and managing successful nonprofit organizations like Impact Urban America and has received recognition for her community impact.

Transitioning to the nonprofit sector, she served as Program Director at Pangea Foundation, managing youth mentoring programs and grants for resident services.

In her role as Sr. Program Manager at SAY San Diego, Karen promoted collaboration and leadership in AOD prevention programs.

At NAMI San Diego, she specialized in public health education, addressing mental health, substance misuse, and societal stigma through training initiatives and grant projects.

Karen volunteers as Secretary of the board for A New Path and holds the position of Vice President at Urban Strategic Solutions.

Her educational background includes studies in Industrial and Organizational Psychology, Child Development, Spanish, and AOD Abuse Counseling.
