As Girl Scout Cookie Season officially draws to a close, I am reminded once again of the values that selling cookies instill in the young girls in the program (including my daughter). Girl Scout Cookie Season is almost as recognized as the transition from Winter to Spring, and this year brought extremely valuable lessons around supply and demand with the shortage of the Raspberry Rally.
Part of why I love the Girl Scouts is that it empowers and encourages young girls, and the lessons they learn will translate later in life. Enabling women, even at an early age, allows them to learn and grow, ultimately contributing tremendously to all aspects of their lives. This simple rite of passage opens their eyes to the larger world and begins to teach the skills that will be so important to their success later in life as well as allowing them to gain the self-confidence they will need as they continue their personal growth and journey.
So now you have another reason for not feeling guilty when you dig into that wonderful box of cookie goodness (we still have some inventory if you need it!). Your great taste in cookies not only brought a smile to your face but had a tremendous influence on the personal growth of a young woman…well done.
