Highlights
Often we keep our personal and professional lives separate, and truthfully I’m not really sure why since so often the two intersect. For me, this was especially true six years ago. Moments before I was set to start a mediation, I received devastating news that my amazing, one of a kind, step-dad had unexpectedly passed. Without skipping a beat, my colleague, Michael Manoukian steppped in to take over so I could jump on the first flight out of town to be with my mom and step-brother. The mediator, opposing counsel, and my client all understandably knew that in that moment, family came first.
Work and life events will intersect. For me, having colleagues, and even adversaries, who understand and support you through those times is so very important.
Tonight I held tight to the last time moments I had with Allen pushing Annemarie in her swing, and toasted to him with his favorite bottle of wine.
Today, we held our annual board retreat for Christmas In The Park. This might surprise you to hear, but Christmas is NOT my favorite holiday.
You might be wondering why, if that’s the case, would I spend hours and hours of time for 12+ years as a Board Member for Christmas In The Park.
Well, it’s simple really. My favorites are (1) the people below (and those that came before them) and (2) the pure joy and excitement the event brings to the families in our community.
So why am I posting all this? Because my ask to all of you is that if you want to learn more about joining these amazing people on our Board; let’s talk. If that’s not in the cards for you right now, but you (or your company) want to help keep this event free for all who attend; let’s chat! You may have just taken down your decorations and turned the page on the holidays, but we’re just getting started!
