Today spending on climate reporting exceeds spending on action by 40%. But Data can be an accelerator for climate action rather than a hurdle. So, now that we are all getting back into gear post summer holidays, how about shifting your mindset and digging into the ways data can not only help us manage what we can measure, but also mobilize teams across an org and accelerate our pathway to sustainability via optimization and innovation?

I am excited for the upcoming Cohort 2 of the 'Leveraging Data and AI for Sustainability' course I teach with Terra, starting on September 10 to demistify the sustainability data space, inspire you, and provide a practical pathway to take action. From mapping the landscape to identify where you can apply your skills, to tips for sustainability professionals to get moving on the data side, the insights, guest speakers, peer discussions and assignments, will take you on a ground-breaking journey.

The link below gives you the run down of the course and testimonials from Cohort 1. Registrations are running until September 9!

I often get asked about potential roles at the intersection of data and sustainability. I think this is definitely an emerging trend. Today existing data team members often get tapped to serve as the sustainability partner. But as the field matures, I'm also seeing more and more job specs squarely sitting at that intersection. Today's example shows me that some companies are starting to grasp how transformative data can be for sustainability initiatives. 'As companies strive to align with environmental, social, and governance (ESG) principles, the role of data management in driving sustainable performance has become increasingly apparent.'
