Karissa Sellman

Integrative Health Coach and Certified Mindfulness Teacher

Karissa Sellman is a dedicated advocate for workplace wellbeing and addiction recovery, offering mindfulness and compassion practices rooted in Buddhist tradition.

With a secular approach to teaching mindfulness, Karissa believes in its public health benefits and aims to make it accessible to all, regardless of their background.

Having started her meditation journey at San Francisco Zen Center in 2001 and achieving lay ordination in 2011, she later received training at UCLA's Semel Institute for Neuroscience and Human Behavior in mindfulness instruction.

Her work focuses on supporting individuals in recovery from addictive behaviors through tailored mindfulness practices.

Karissa currently leads drop-in groups, provides meditation mentoring sessions, and is an active member of the International Mindfulness Teachers Association and an interfaith volunteer at a local hospital.

She holds a degree in Public Relations from Drake University and has held various roles in organizations like Charlotte Maxwell Clinic, Sierra Club, The San Francisco Foundation, and Project Avary.
