Karl Koerner

Dr. Karl Koerner is a highly experienced professional in the field of oral surgery, with a focus on providing education and training to dentists through didactic and participation courses.

He currently serves as the Clinical Director of Oral Surgery at Intermountain Dental Associates in Utah, where he oversees hands-on courses using life-like models for various surgical procedures.

Dr. Koerner graduated from the University of Washington School of Dentistry and has a background in general practice residency in the U.S. Army, as well as a Masters Degree in Education.

Although not trained as an oral surgeon, he has dedicated the last 16 years to practicing oral surgery exclusively, contributing significantly to the field.

As an accomplished author, Dr. Koerner has written numerous articles and books on oral surgery for general dentists, and has been featured in professional DVDs focusing on difficult extractions, third molar surgery, and medical emergencies.

He has held prestigious positions such as past president of the Utah Dental Association and the Utah Academy of General Dentistry, demonstrating his leadership and influence in the dental community.

Dr. Koerner is also known for his humanitarian work, organizing and leading patient treatment and educational trips to China since 2006, where he also imparts his knowledge to other dentists.

Recognized for his contributions to General Dentistry and continuing education, he received the Thaddeus V. Weclew Award at the 2010 National AGD Meeting.

In addition to his professional endeavors, Dr. Koerner has a strong fluency in Chinese, further enriching his ability to connect with diverse populations and expand his reach in the field of oral surgery.
