Karl West is a highly experienced individual in the field of designing and developing medical technologies and currently serves as the R&D manager for non-ionizing minimally invasive surgical guidance at the renowned Cleveland Clinic.

With appointments at the Lerner Research Institute and the department of Biomedical Engineering, Karl also acts as the Scientific Advisor for Centerline Biomedical, focusing on innovative 3D endovascular surgical navigation technology.

His vast involvement in medical device design since 1998 has led to the issuance of fifteen patents, with a primary focus on developing technologies that aid surgeons with image-guided procedures.

Karl oversees a team of professionals at the Medical Device Solutions department within the Cleveland Clinic, specializing in cutting-edge technologies like augmented reality (AR) for enhancing medical devices.

Furthermore, his research in the biomedical engineering department concentrates on endo-aortic prosthetic devices and non-ionizing image guidance systems for minimally invasive surgeries.

Aside from his roles at Cleveland Clinic and Centerline Biomedical, Karl West is actively engaged with the Health Tech Corridor of Cleveland, participates in a roundtable group at the Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland, and serves as an Adjunct Instructor at Cleveland State and Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine.
