29 people this morning! Today’s incredible summer party was hosted by Kim Mackenzie, founder of Ladies Who Strategize, along with Jeff Weiner Ben Dietz and myself.

It was refreshing to meet so many of the women from Ladies Who Strategize (especially as I've just joined the community myself), with some of whom were meeting for the first time IRL. Honored to have been part of this rare collaboration!

Thank you to DJ, Christine Kang and everyone at As You Are at Ace Hotel / Atelier Ace for letting us take over the restaurant today and who have looked after us with so much care for the best part of this year. We’re taking a break for August and will be back on again on September 5th!

In the meantime, check out Wednesdays at The Wythe for OG Breakfast Club and Thursdays in Manhattan. All the info is here: https://lnkd.in/eYVhiuXu

I’ve been thinking a lot recently about this community we’ve all been building together. Yes, we have hosts, and people come and we eat some stuff and say some things. But really, it’s the ones who show up every week, or even every other week, knowing we’ll all be here to start the day together.

We hear the word community ALOT - we put it in peoples titles, we design whole digital platforms that seemingly bring us together online all the time, we even charge for it. But much like the people I see at the dog park everyday, and a lot like the people who come to our breakfasts, it feels true community is when you show up again and again, IRL, no questions asked, no agenda.

And hopefully you never really know what everyone you meet at BC does for a living (the irony of writing this on Linked In, right) because you’ve talked about everything under the sun but work, and money and stress.

You’ve talked about toy museums, and civic duty, you’ve discussed the nuances between Australian and American comedy, you’ve analyzed Taylor Swift’s mad effect on gig tripping. And hopefully you’ve laughed a bunch.

Join myself and Jeff Weiner next week with our co-host Kim Mackenzie for the final Breakfast Club Downtown for July. We’ll be taking a break in August, Euro-style then back again after Labor Day for another weekly installment of breakfasts here at Ace Hotel / Atelier Ace

In the meantime, check for another BC near you and stay cool - https://lnkd.in/eYVhiuXu
