Highlights

Mar 1 · linkedin

Sharing an excellent summary of thoughtful discussion on responsible AI from Sinch leaders and our customers at MWC in Barcelona.

Sep 8 · linkedin

Just finished 3 invigorating days at Hubspot Inbound 2023 in Boston. Innovative approaches to AI, building global brands, and even more evolution of digital marketing innovation were highlights. There is growing excitement and interest with marketers learning about how easy it is for them to leverage SMS to drive increased quality and personalized engagement with their customers.

I’d also forgotten the importance of F2F connections and next level in terms of depth of conversations (OK, I didn’t really forget – I just have missed it!). Thank you Wilmari Pienaar, Ashley Westwood, and Rukshan Perera from Mebourne; Douglas J. Rubingh, Nathan Quicke, and Lee Weinberger from Denver; and Marketing Maestros Beth Houran, MBA and Alex Rhodes for the great connections.

A special treat to see Reese Witherspoon interviewed by Zinhle Essamauah from NBC. So inspiring to hear about Hello Sunshine and her passion for empowering women, and her sage advice on navigating change, leadership, and innovation.  She reminded me that we are all teachers, as well as students. Something I've been thinking about a lot lately!

Top 10 Lessons from Reese: 1.   Advice for success: Show up, and then do what you say you are going to do. 2.   Don’t be afraid of working hard.  No one wants to hear you complain. 3.   (For business people): You are always adapting. Businesses continually change. It’s important to speak to your audience so they feel seen and heard. 4.   A good story is one with a unique perspective. There may only be 12 original stories in the world, but if you can create a unique world or voice, you have a great story. 5.   Other people’s opinions of you are none of your business. The sooner you realize that you are free. 6.   There is true power in partnership. No single person has all the skills you need to survive. Find partners to fill that gap. If someone has a proficiency you don’t have, that is truly valuable. 7.   Curate the people you are with. If people let you down, gracefully exit. 8.   Edit your friendships. There are radiators and drains. Stick around the radiators. Get rid of the drains. 9.   Treat everyone with kindness and respect. One day you are at the top, the next day you are at the bottom. Treat people the same no matter where you are. 10.  A life in service of helping others is huge. Everyone has the ability to change someone’s life. This is an honor.
