I will be hosting a “Panel on Procurement: Request for Proposal Detective Work” at the ITE Canada conference in Hamilton in June. This will be my third attempt at a panel on this subject. My approach is to invite people from the public sector to join me on a panel using an informal format for conversations about procurement. The overall goal is good scopes for great projects, efficiency and fairness.

Here is the description that I used for Hamilton: “Using excerpts from Request for Proposals (RFP), a panel of private and public sector representatives will discuss the intent and impact of specific requirements found in recent RFP documents. Whether it is specific qualifications and number of years experience for Project Managers, to pricing formulas, together we will dive into the details. With the overarching goal of efficient, effective and fair open competitive processes for selecting teams for projects in Canada, the aim of the discussion will be to seek out ways to improve procurement systems.”

I am looking for one more panelist from the public sector. I have representation from Ontario and New Brunswick so I have a slight leaning for someone from other provinces or territories. Please DM me if you are attending the conference and interested in participating on Wednesday morning.
