Katherine Darnstadt is an architect, educator, and the founder of Latent Design. Her practice focuses on the intersection of architecture and community development, aiming to create social, economic, and environmental impact beyond just the physical structures. Katherine leverages design to unveil the invisible forces that affect a project, with her firm engaging in a wide range of collaborations from small tactical interventions to neighborhood master plans. She has been recognized with awards like the 2013 American Institute of Architects Young Architects Honor Award and was named in the 2014 Crain's Chicago 40 Under 40. Besides her practice, Katherine teaches at The School of the Art Institute of Chicago and Northwestern University. She pursued a Bachelor's in Architecture at the Illinois Institute of Technology and also studied at the It - Universitetet I København.
