Over 20k global founders and investors, >$500k in pitch competition prize money, an interview with Pitbull, AND a beachy venue?!

Once again, eMerge Americas is true venture paradise. 😍

If you’re in the startup space and not attending eMerge - you should be!

Here are my highlights from the conference last week:

✨ Judging the pitch competition’s Semi-Final round with my fellow Venture Mentoring Team (VMT) mentor, Jim Ryan, and several others. We had the pleasure of selecting the finalists in the Early Stage category. It was a tough job, given how strong the pitches were…!

✨ Mentoring and learning from all-star founders like Adam Ashley from Plus Up and Roberto Amaya and Andres Noero from Via Community. The VMT donated over 2,000 mentoring hours to eMerge this year! 🤯 💫

✨ Catching up with special founder friends from last year, like the fabulous Alexandra Baker of Pikliz. She is sunshine. Rumor has it she’s creating a “mild” version of her Pikliz product… and I cannot. wait. (There will 100000% be a post about this)

✨ Attending our first-ever VMT Summit, the day before eMerge. Over 70+ mentors attended - which meant quality time with many friends. Forever grateful to be a part of such a special community. Kudos to the VMT Summit Committee for making it all happen!

Miami’s tech scene is thriving - and I’m delighted to be a part of it.

So...

...did I convince you to join me at eMerge next year?! 🌴 🏖

Money is, unfortunately, power, and the U.S. wealth imbalance is getting worse - but I see hope!

Founders Jordan Wexler and Caleb Frankel of EarlyBird are on a mission to help families save and invest for their child’s future, and to make intergenerational wealth easier and more accessible.

Starting from Day 1, they set children up with a diversified portfolio that seamlessly allows families and their social networks to contribute.

EarlyBird’s recent partnership with the Aequo Foundation and SAA|EVI takes this much-needed work even further.

5,000+ children will earn investments related to school performance, with the ultimate goal of providing a solid financial foundation to pursue their dreams.

…can you imagine if this were a nationwide initiative?

…if we encouraged more nonprofits to investment-match?

…if we had our companies participate for their employees?

…if children graduated high school with a nest egg?

Let’s celebrate, amplify, and invest in founders dedicated to making the world a better place.

What other impact-driven founders should I meet? Tag them in the comments.
