Highlights
You are smart, driven, and good at what you do...but often that is not enough to grab people's attention. Your personal brand and likeability plays a big part in your success. Are you ready in 2024 to find the bigger YOU?
Ask yourself these questions:
How do others feel when I walk into the room?
Do I communicate with confidence?
What do other people think about their interactions with me?
Find out next week - I'd love to see you January 4th at the Wauwatosa Library. You're invited to my interactive presentation, "Take Your Brand to the Bank." Go time is 7 p.m. which means, just like me, you'll have to give up a night of lounging in your sweatpants and watching Netflix.😊
The good news is the event is free. You can thank the Wauwatosa Public Library Foundation when you come Thursday night.👍
Polishing up your personal brand is a great first step to launch the new year.
You'll hear some fun behind-the-scenes TV stories, work on your communication skills and meet new people (unless you bring your friends which is cool too). It's time to inspire your colleagues, your customers, and ultimately yourself. Register here - https://lnkd.in/gzCWDJJe WAUWATOSA PUBLIC LIBRARY FOUNDATION INC
What a night! Congratulations to my dear friend Susan Kim for being inducted into the MILWAUKEE PRESS CLUB Hall of Fame! She is a newsroom leader who makes everyone around her better, including all the work she does for our community.
Quick story (she knows I love this one): Back in 1997, we were covering the Super Bowl and all the Wisconsin fans in New Orleans to cheer on the Green Bay Packers.
We had looked at our video, finished writing our stories, and then were about to voice our tracks and edit the package (story) together to make our 10 p.m. live shot. TMJ4 News had rented a satellite truck that came with a rented engineer too but when we were in crunch time, he was NOWHERE to be found.
We had a control panel of bright buttons, the pressure of only 30 minutes to show time, and no clue what to do.
Susan looked me straight in the eye and with urgency said, "Silence is NOT an option!"
Thankfully we saw a camera sitting on the floor. We knew how to run that. We voiced our stories and got the job done.
It was a great dose of courage then, and it still is today. Silence is NOT an option. Find your voice!
