I had the pleasure of facilitating a panel for the Women in Private Capital event hosted by the Australian Investment Council and KPMG Australia last night. We had a fabulous panel of Minh Dao, Shannon Wolfers, Lil Bianchi and Kate Madden discussing navigating board responsibilities and sharing their insights and advice to attendees.
It was a really interesting discussion and a final thought for those contemplating whether a board role is something they aspire to (or will take up as part of their role in private capital) - why not you?

I was privileged to attend the Australian Investment Council conference last week. The conference was fantastic, and whilst I could list all the sessions, some clear highlights for me included:

  • Hearing Christine Holgate speak about the transformation at Team Global Express. An amazing story and truly inspirational leader. Key themes - customers and staff are most important.
  • Diversity Equity and Inclusion fireside chat with Elicia McDonald, Anne-Marie Birkill and Eden Lawrence. Such amazing, inspiring women that are both leading and making a difference in the industry.
  • KPMG Australia sponsoring the Diversity & Inclusion drinks - makes me proud that we continue to call out DEI as an important issue as businesses evolve, and that I work with such a diverse team at KPMG.
