Kaylen Strench is a dedicated individual currently pursuing a Juris Doctor degree at the University of Virginia School of Law, with a focus on civil rights and appellate law.

She holds a Bachelor's degree in Philosophy and Political Science, graduating Magna Cum Laude and Phi Beta Kappa from Rice University in Houston, Texas.

Kaylen has a strong background in education, having served as a Teach for America corps member teaching 8th grade ELA at Yes Prep Southwest in Houston, Texas.

Throughout her academic journey, she has actively engaged in various organizations such as the Virginia Law Review where she serves as the Assistant Managing Editor and has interned at the U.S. Department of Justice, Civil Rights Division in Washington, D.C.

She brings a wealth of experience through her legal internships at prestigious firms like Simpson Thacher & Bartlett LLP in Houston, Texas, and upcoming clerkships with notable judges such as the Honorable Debra Lehrmann of the Texas Supreme Court and the Honorable Catharina Haynes on the 5th Circuit Court of Appeals.

Originally from the Louisville, Kentucky area, Kaylen has demonstrated leadership skills through her role as President of the Baker Institute Student Forum during her time at Rice University.
