Greetings! I want to announce a new book that I’ve created for families 🙂 and a legacy to our beloved dog.

I started writing this book when Chloe was just a puppy in 2006. Every few years, I would add to the story, often giggling at the stories I would write about her.

Chloe came into my life and brought me so much joy, when I was struggling with fertility issues. She received all of my motherly attention and love. We snuggled. We took long walks in the woods. We set out together in the quiet of the mornings. We ran on the beach.

One day, while on the beach, two butterflies danced around with her, and as a group, they moved happily down the beach. I watched from afar, sitting on a piece of driftwood. I imagined that the butterflies were the energetic expression of the brief pregnancies I carried.

Immediately, I went home and wrote and wrote, and Chloe & the Butterflies emerged. Chloe lived to be almost 16 years old! The book captures many of the ups and downs Chloe and our family experienced through the perspective of Chloe.

My goal in writing the story and sharing it with other families is to provide a sweet, fun and gentle way to talk about change, transition and loss and keep the conversation flowing into the future.

During my studies in the Grief and Bereavement program at King's College University, I learned so many things. Four main takeaways I want to share with you are:

**The immense importance of building secure attachments between parents and children for their health and well-being, the

**Value of learning attunement and its proven positive healing impact when we are present with each other, and that

**Spirituality is a protective factor for coping with grief and loss and enduring hardships throughout the life span, and that

**Creative responses to grief are very effective in healing and transforming grief and suffering.

With all of that in mind, I created discussion questions for families to read and explore together at the end of the book. I also added some general instructions on my site to help guide parents and caregivers before they read the book, if that would be helpful for them.

The book is written carefully to avoid imposing my own spiritual beliefs on the reader. Parents can adjust the discussion based on what they believe is best and based on the child's age or maturity level. I anticipate ages 6-10 would be the recommended range.

We don't have to agree with each other about our spiritual beliefs, but there is so much benefit to our health and sense of well-being as individuals, families and even in our communities when we engage in open conversations with ourselves and children about life and death, illness, and aging.

And, thank you for your support in spreading the word about this passion project come to life!! xo testimonials are in the comments below :)

As always, don't hesitate to contact me to order a signed copy or explore ways I can support your well-being.

Sincerely, Kelly
