Kelly Pedro is a creative writer based in Ontario, Canada. She has a background in journalism, having spent nearly 14 years working for daily newspapers where she crafted engaging stories and led major research projects.24

Her fiction has been published in notable literary magazines such as PRISM and The New Quarterly, and she was recognized as a finalist for the Phyllis Grant Zellmer Fiction Prize and shortlisted for Room's 2022 fiction contest.14 Currently, she is revising a collection of linked short stories and is also the recipient of the 2024 SmokeLong Fellowship for Emerging Writers, where she contributed significantly by reviewing nearly 500 submissions.34
