Working with clients in public affairs means preparing and counseling for all scenarios, especially in times of volatility. Thanks to Alex Rogers  at the Financial Times for including my perspective on what CEOs are thinking about the election at this moment in time. My comment: “In a matter of weeks, the business community has gone from readying itself for a Republican-run Washington to scenario planning for a wide range of outcomes,” said Ken Spain, a Republican consultant who advises business leaders. “Many are hedging their bets given the volatility of the political environment.”

I recently wrote about Supreme Court's landmark decision, reversing the so-called 'Chevron deference' standard, by which courts gave regulators great latitude to interpret regulations passed by Congress.

As I wrote for PRWeek: "The Chevron reversal adds the potential for new rounds of policymaking that allow existing regulations to be overturned and new ones to be struck down. This creates a green field for public affairs in the legal and litigation space. The ability to shape public perception of legal battles and how they affect businesses and consumers will allow companies to set the stakes for the outcome."
