Highlights
Thankful Tuesday post! Last week I had the privilege of connecting live w/ Godard Abel the Co-Founder and CEO of G2. Our quarterly 1:1 was spent touring his amazing office as well as walking along the river downtown. A great Chicago moment for me, spending time with an incredible entrepreneur who has left an indelible mark on our tech community. Godard shared advice around building and scaling our team, navigating startup life and embracing a deeply competitive market.
Given his insanely busy schedule, I’m grateful he set aside time. But it was important to the both of us and that's the lesson: always surround yourself with mentors & leaders who will make time and prioritize growth and relationships. That has always been my promise to my mentees and there is no better feeling than paying it forward. Thank you again, Godard! Looking forward to our next ‘walk and talk’!
A week ago, our beloved father, David Stolman, passed away at the age of 75. This was a sudden and tragic loss for our family. While he was an absolutely incredible husband, father, grandpa, uncle, brother, etc...he was a friend to so many and the epitome of a community-minded business leader. Yes, he was a successful attorney and investor but we are most proud of his many decades of public service. He left an indelible legacy that was second to none. Dad believed in compromising, bridging gaps and differences, and always doing everything the right way. He never sacrificed integrity or authenticity and his higher purpose was to inspire and help others by creating positive change. So many good lessons for business and civic leadership that are not common these days.
Thank you to Steve Zalusky for this article which captured the multi-faceted role he played in Buffalo Grove and throughout Lake County, Illinois. We also sincerely appreciated the resolution passed by the Illinois General Assembly which honored his dedication as a public servant. He was truly a 'titan' and we are so moved by the outpouring of support. He will be missed more than anyone can ever know. You simply never have enough time.
