Highlights
This week, a teammate asked a great question: what are some of your favorite articles or speeches on meaning and purpose? I was reminded of this 28 year old lecture, which I heard ten years ago while living in the Philippines. It references Tolstoy, Camus, Voltaire, Sartre, and the Bible. It's highly relevant not only to to work, vocation, and sense of calling, but to the purpose of life.
Takeaway (in my words): Once we discover and accept the (macro) objective, unchangeable purpose of life, we have real (micro) freedom to shape what we do with our lives, out of a sense of calling.
Thanks, John Coleman, for the great question.
