Highlights
Happy 70th birthday to my mother, my hero, and the person who has had the biggest impact on my life!
She's the most fearless person I know. In the late '70s, she fled from Vietnam with her 12-year-old brother on a small boat packed with hundreds of passengers. They endured three days and three nights on a vessel with slim chances of survival until they reached Indonesia, where they were rescued by the US army. Fortunately, after several months being stationed on a small island waiting for any country to accept them as refugees, Sweden welcomed them, allowing them to restart their lives here.
She has taught me so much about grit and the importance of hard work. Her mantra is always to work harder than others and not to take anything for granted. She is completely fearless in asking questions. I remember her always telling me when growing up, "If you don't ask, you'll never know." This lesson has been so powerful and invaluable to me throughout my life and career.
Thank you for everything you’ve done for us ❤️
