💛 Harnessing the Power of Positive Thinking 💛
I consider it a privilege to have worked with incredible individuals throughout my career. Today, I want to share a personal learning experience that has had a profound impact on my journey: The power of thinking the best of other people and how it influences your own mindset.
In the fast-paced world of a start-up, we often find ourselves navigating various challenges from conflicts to organisational changes. It’s easy to get caught up in the whirlwind of tasks and responsibilities, but what I’ve come to realise is that our inner attitude towards others and towards situations play a significant role in shaping not only our professional lives but also our mental well-being.
Over the years, I’ve made a conscious effort to cultivate a positive outlook towards every employee and person I interact with. Here’s what I’ve learnt:
🔸Assuming positive intent: By default, assuming that others have good intentions has been a transformative mindset shift. This approach has allowed me to approach interactions with trust and openness, leading to better collaboration and cooperation.
🔸Building strong relationships: Thinking the best of others has the incredible power to build strong and enduring relationships. It fosters an environment where people feel values, heard and appreciated.
🔸Resolving conflicts: When conflicts arise, choosing to believe in the goodwill of all parties involved can be the first step towards finding constructive solutions. It promotes understanding and empathy, making conflict resolution smoother and less stressful, even when addressing more conflicting issues in a straightforward way.
🔸A positive ripple effect: One of the most remarkable aspects of this mindset is its ripple effect. When you think the best of others, you inspire them to rise to the occasion and bring out their best qualities. This, in turn, enhances team dynamics and overall workplace culture.
🔸Nurturing your mindset: Ultimately, thinking positively about others also nurtures your own mindset. It reduces stress, promotes a sense of well-being, and makes the workplace a more enjoyable and fulfilling place.
By choosing to think the best of other people, we not only create a healthier work environment but also cultivate a healthier mindset for ourselves.
I’d love to hear your thoughts and experiences on this topic. Let’s continue to inspire each other to embrace positivity in our interactions and make the workplace a better place for all!

🌟 Nurturing a healthy workplace: The power of regular feedback 🌟
As we enter the year's final quarter, I'm thrilled to share an essential practice we uphold at Humanoo: our performance reviews, which include meaningful feedback sessions between every employee and their respective manager.
Over the past few weeks, we've been engaging in deep conversations about feedback within our team.
I want to highlight why we firmly believe that fostering a healthy workplace begins with the regular exchange of feedback:
💬 Clear Communication: In our fast-paced work environment, structured feedback provides a crucial platform for open and honest communication between managers and team members. This ongoing dialogue allows us to address concerns, provide constructive feedback, and set clear expectations, ultimately reducing work-related stress and preventing misunderstandings.
⬆ Skill Development: Regular feedback sessions offer employees the opportunity to discuss their career goals and aspirations. Identifying areas for growth and providing resources to develop these skills not only boosts morale but also contributes to long-term job satisfaction.
🙏 Recognition & Appreciation: Acknowledging achievements and hard work during feedback cycles fosters a sense of appreciation and belonging. Feeling valued at work is a powerful motivator and a key factor in maintaining mental and emotional wellbeing.
🔁 Goal Alignment: Feedback talks help align individual goals with the organisation’s objectives. This sense of purpose and contribution to the bigger picture can enhance levels of satisfaction and overall well being.
💛 Health & Work-Life-Balance: We prioritise the physical and mental health of our team members by ensuring that workload is manageable and employees are not overwhelmed. Talking openly about challenges to the work-life-balance enables adjustments to workloads and schedules when needed.
At Humanoo, our commitment to the well-being of our team members and regular feedback talks are just one of the tools we use to support their health and growth. We understand that a healthy workplace is a thriving workplace and we are proud to invest in the success and happiness of our employees.
