Highlights
Opening week in baseball is something else. So proud of our Marketing team for the months of hard work they put in to make Opening Day a world-class experience with a sell-out crowd! It was incredible to see things through the eyes of my kiddos and recognize that we are providing lifelong memories and experiences to the next generations of fans! #natitude
Today is National Girls & Women in Sports Day. It is not lost on me, the tremendous opportunity I have in front of me to help pave the pathway for the next generation of women in sports, and be grateful for those that have helped pave it for me, in sports or other traditionally male-dominated industries alike (here's looking at you Judy Hackett, Amy Castillo, Joanna Lord, Amina Bulman 💕...thank you for you mentorship and support, always). Here are a few reflections I'd love to share:
- Participation matters: I didn't realize it back then, but playing sports as a kid, helped me develop communication and character skills I use every single day as a leader: how to be proactive, resilient, and comfortable with discomfort. Despite being mediocre (at best) for the sports I played, these lessons were resounding and impactful to this day. Sports also gave me an appreciation for movement and fitness that has turned into a lifelong career.
- Pay it forward: let's lift each other up and pay it forward. I would not have been able to get where I am without the coaching, mentorship, and guidance I have received throughout my career. If I can be helpful at all to anyone considering a career or move into sports, marketing, leadership, etc, please reach out.
- Lastly, please check out the important work of Stef Strack and Voice in Sport™, VIS™. Their advocacy for ensuring visibility and equity with TITLE IX is incredibly important.
Happy National Girls & Women in Sports Day #NGWSD2024
