We invite you to join a state-wide call with Main Street America on March 22nd at 9 a.m. Central. Kathy La Plante from Main Street America and Michael Wagler from Main Street Iowa will discuss the potential of bringing this preservation and small business-centered economic development office to South Dakota, called a "coordinating program." Main Street America focuses on the needs unique to historic downtowns, such as addressing blighted properties, building a peer support network, providing training and informational resources, spurring reinvestment, and encouraging entrepreneurship and small business growth while tapping into funding resources currently unavailable in our state. Coordinating programs have had great success in surrounding states, like Iowa, Minnesota, and Wyoming, as a partnership program with Main Street America.
