Anthony Carbajal

Resilient wheelchair street photographer. Designer. Mom and I both have ALS. Grateful to those who support our care.

Anthony Carbajal is the owner of AnthonyCarbajal Photography and a resilient wheelchair street photographer who was diagnosed with ALS at the age of 26.2 He is also known as "Kiss our ALS" on social media platforms.

Anthony graduated from Loyola Marymount University in 2010 with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Management and Marketing.23 He started his photography business in June 2005, specializing in weddings and intimate celebrations.23

Despite his ALS diagnosis, Anthony continues to pursue his passion for photography by adapting his equipment. He has modified his wheelchair, which he affectionately calls "Frankie" (short for Frankenstein), to accommodate his camera setup.2 Anthony now focuses on street photography, aiming to capture often overlooked subjects and encourage vulnerability as a means of solidarity.2

In addition to his photography work, Anthony is an ALS advocate who has been featured on various media outlets, including Ellen and CNN.1 He gained widespread attention in 2014 when his ALS Ice Bucket Challenge video went viral, garnering over 20 million views and raising significant funds for ALS research.1

As of August 2024, Anthony has also been working as a talent manager, representing another individual with ALS.4
