With a background in industrial design and minors in psychology, photography, and digital imaging from Carnegie Mellon University, as well as a certificate in game design from the University of Washington, Ko's expertise spans across different fields.

Notably, one of Ko's kickstarter projects was recognized as the best green tea in North America by the Global Tea Championship.
