Krista Carter is an accomplished individual with a diverse educational background and extensive experience in various organizations.

Krista studied Political Science and Government, English Language and Literature, and also pursued a High School Teaching Certificate at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro and the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. Additionally, she delved into the field of Law at The Manchester Metropolitan University.

Throughout her career, Krista has held significant roles in different organizations. She served as the Campus Director at Citizen Schools, advocating for community engagement and educational initiatives. Prior to this, she played a crucial role at The Black Institute as a Community Organizer focusing on Education Equity and Environmental Justice. Her passion for policy and advocacy led her to become a Policy & Advocacy Fellow at Leadership for Educational Equity.

Krista also contributed to the education sector through roles at Teach For America, where she served as an Interviewer, School Operations Manager, High School English Teacher at Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools, and Corps Member. Her dedication to civic engagement is evident in her past role as the Volunteer/Research Coordinator at Cyndy Hayworth Campaign Committee.
