One year ago, I made the switch from DEI back to tech and am so grateful to have landed at a mission driven company with a huge heart and a roster full of caring, smart, and FUN co-workers. I've always thought of my career as a jungle gym instead of a ladder and feel so lucky to work for a company who values such diverse backgrounds and experiences in their team. Cheers to a super great year!

Friendly reminder that mental health care is health care.

October 10 is World Mental Health Day (WMHD), and while there has been so much progress in acknowledging the importance of mental health care for all, there is still so much left to do.

I'm so proud of the research SimplePractice recently published to better understand the crisis behind the mental health crisis: practitioner burnout. We learned from surveying 550 practitioners that:

  • Over half of them have experienced burnout this year.
  • About half of burned out practitioners have questioned their ability to stay committed to the mental health profession.
  • 55% say administrative tasks have contributed to their burnout.

Our customers overwhelmingly say that admin work is part of what contributes to their exhaustion, and we have the power to help them. By listening to their biggest pain points and helping them simplify how they run their business, we can make it easier for practitioners to be present for their clients and themselves.

It's so meaningful to work for a company whose mission is to help practitioners thrive so that they can focus on the real task at hand: healing.
