Kristina Tom

Senior Lecturer at Nanyang Technological University

Kristina Tom is an accomplished educator, writer, lecturer, speaker, executive coach, and trainer, currently serving as faculty at the School of Humanities at Nanyang Technological University. She has a decade of experience in teaching, research, and creative work in writing and communication. Kristina has taught writing, public speaking, and academic literacy to a diverse range of students, from undergraduates to senior executives. She excels in coordinating large university courses, managing educator teams, and overseeing teaching and curriculum development. Kristina is a leader in education and played a pivotal role in launching a university-wide program on student leadership development.

Apart from her academic role, Kristina is an accomplished writer with work spanning criticism, essays, interviews, poetry, and fiction. Her writings have been featured in prestigious publications such as How2, Softblow, Ceriph, The Straits Times, and Quarterly Literary Review Singapore. She is also an experienced public speaker, having participated in public readings in Singapore and the US, and has been invited as a speaker at conferences and corporate training events. She is a recent recipient of grants for her book-in-progress and pedagogical research on student-faculty partnership in curriculum design.

Kristina Tom holds a Master of Arts (MA) in English and a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in English with a concentration in Creative Writing, both from Stanford University. Prior to her current role, she has held positions as a Senior Lecturer and Lecturer at Nanyang Technological University, Communications Manager at World Vision, and Journalist at The Straits Times.
