Got a lovely surprise in the mail today with the June 2024 issue of the alumni rag and thought I was looking at the actual Rocket on nicer paper. As a fresh-eyed, young new student in 1988, The Rocket and The Daily got me through some days! I remember sitting in my basement apartment on 18th on Friday nights (pre-21), listening to Nirvana, Metal Church, Soundgarden and others on the KISW local music hour. Amazing music with creative freedom was being made. Rock on, UW.
Resilience Unleashed.
That’s the working title of my new book in the making, and it's a story of loss, practice, mindset change, and triumph. My past year (and life) has been a mixed bag of blessings and curses. Despite the attempts to break me, my joy, power, and love stand strong, stronger than ever before.
My heart is full with God, loving friends, family, care providers, and being held accountable to fulfilling my next stage of purpose this year.
Even though this past year has thrown challenges like injuries, accidents, deaths, changing jobs, a home destroyed in a storm, dodging death, goodbyes to old scripts, and a life to finally align to my purpose, I’m resting up for my incredible next season. All things work together for good.
This post is a reminder that despite the challenges, stay resilient, rest, and keep pushing forward, one step at a time. When we find ourselves straying from our purpose, we must gather our forces, get help, and rewrite our own script. The battlefield is the mind. Let us not be deceived.
