Awesome gig working in the UK with the lovely Dominique Penny-King!

Yesterday marked my 10 year Salesforce anniversary, a milestone that I’m very proud of and one that has me feeling both nostalgic and looking forward to the next 10 years. I put together a top 10 list, a mix of reasons why I love working here and some of my favorite things about the company.

I’m so grateful to everyone that played a role in this  journey but would be remiss if I didn’t give a shout out to my 10-year buddy, Karly Bolton!

  1. A company of firsts: Salesforce made the cloud sexy, we created mascots that have become fan favorites, developed a nature/forest-based theme and built an annual user event that includes the likes of Hollywood A-listers, sports legends, pop stars and even Jane Goodall. The list goes on and Salesforce still manages to both surprise and impress me.

  2. Growth: When I started, Salesforce had about 15K employees and we’re currently at 80K and the largest employer in San Francisco with no plans of slowing down. We weren’t even a Fortune 500 company and now we’re in the top 150.

  3. People: Salesforce was a client before it was my employer (looking at you Ashish Patel and Molly Q. Ford) and the relationships I’ve built from the beginning are people I’ll love and learn from for the rest of my career.

  4. Innovation: The pace at which we release products and services is enough to make you crazy but it’s how we’ve been able to grow at the rate we have and become #1 in so many areas.

  5. Giving back: Each employee receives an annual $5K donation in that form of a match for the non-profit of your choice. This is significant and in total the company has given more than $700M since 1999. This was built in our DNA from day one and it’s one of my favorite perks.

  6. Dedication to San Francisco: Salesforce was founded in the city and it’s been our bedrock ever since. We hold Dreamforce at Moscone annually and we never considered building a massive campus in Silicon Valley, a move that would take us out of San Francisco. We have a beautiful tower but we’re encouraged to step outside to take advantage of our local cafes and coffee shops.

  7. What I’ve learned: I’ve had many roles at Salesforce and each of them has taught me about worlds that were new to me and I’m so grateful for that.

  8. Never bored: When I transitioned from the PR agency world I had an irrational fear about being bored and that I’d feel stuck. Fast forward to now and that hasn’t happened yet. I’d be honest if I didn’t wish for a week boredom but we keep moving faster than I could ever imagine and I live for that.

  9. Best work of my career: From tightening my PR skills, to learning all about events and operations. Salesforce has hands down made me smarter and a much better communicator.

  10. The future of CRM is bright: The last 10 years have taught me to expect the unexpected, that there will be good and bad news, but more of the former and I continue to be optimistic about my career at Salesforce. To the next TEN!
