The creation of Title IX was transformative for women in sports in the US. Beth A. Brooke was the driving force behind the creation of the EY Athlete Programs and I am honored to continue building this legacy for athletes globally. As we approach the 50th anniversary of Title IX, we know this conversation is as important as ever and Beth sums it up beautifully in this new CNN spotlight. #SportsMadeMe
Thank you to The Honorable rob wilkins USAF, Ret. for the amazing recognition in receiving your personal coin from the United States President’s Council for Sport, Fitness & Nutrition (PCSFN) yesterday. I am proud to join our voices in recognizing the power of sport and its ability to positively impact the lives of women and girls around the globe. Established in 1956 under President Eisenhower, the PCSFN and it's advisors has been working tirelessly to educate Americans about the benefits of physical activity and healthy eating.
After welcoming over 70 Olympians, Paralympians and elite athletes into EY teams around the world, I continue to be honored to be a part of such impactful work and inspired by their caliber of these athletes as professionals and community members. The EY Athlete Programs have long recognized that athletes make exceptional business leaders and we continue our commitment to supporting them as they transition from the playing field to the future board room.
It has been a truly remarkable journey building these programs to-date and one that wouldn’t have even begun without the support of the incredible leaders at EY who have tirelessly championed this vision and provided me with invaluable mentorship. A special thank you to Beth A. Brooke, Dan Black, Holly Humphrey, David O'Brien, Nancy Altobello, Karyn Twaronite, Tom Shepard, Kristin L. Gray and the broader EY leadership for recognizing the importance of these programs.
I can’t wait to see all the places sport will continue to take us! #SportsMadeMe
