Highlights
We wrapped up the “Global Business Practices in Sustainability” course at UCLA Extension this week! 🌐
💡 It was such fun to teach—and to learn from—the students who came to campus from all over the world. They brought dynamic perspectives, poignant insights, and a communal respect to the classroom in a way that somehow made the 3-hour class each Monday evening fly by.
🌎 We covered international policies, sustainability practices, standards and ratings, global goals on climate and sustainable development, emerging trends, circular economy models, the role of NGOs and philanthropic organizations, and the promise of innovation.
✅ We discussed how evolving regulation and recent public and private investment are changing the game.
🏛️ We collaborated on best practices for business integration of #ESG and the green transition.
🧭 We talked through case studies and real-world applications.
⭐ We hosted some amazing guest speakers!
🧩 Students undertook #sustainability assessments of companies (that do not yet publish sustainability reports) for their final project presentations—and they delivered actionable and comprehensive assessments for businesses headquartered around the world.
👏 The students are inspiring. Our collective future is bright! My best wishes to all the students in their careers as they continue to make an impact. 🎓
💙 My sincerest appreciation to the UCLA Extension team for building such a welcoming community.
