Nonprofit Leaders - I find that we often talk a lot about attracting new donors, engaging existing donors, and building a successful team, but we often forget that in order to do those things and much more, we need to be our best possible selves.

Being our best possible selves frees us from burnout. It allows us to look at things with a clear head and tackle challenges head-on. It enables us to adapt more easily, to be creative, and to innovate.

Most importantly, it keeps your mission as a leader grounded. By looking after yourself, you can enjoy the daunting role of being a nonprofit leader much more and be much better for it.

Self-care as a nonprofit leader can mean setting boundaries, taking time off, turning phones off on the weekend, going for an early morning walk before the start of a busy day, and most importantly, asking for help.

Whatever strategy you choose, let this post serve as a reminder that you are entitled to take care of yourself as it's the best strategy for you, your team, donors, and organization in the long run 🙏
