Laura Kriegel

Founder and Director

Laura Kriegel is the Co-Founder and Executive Director of Camp Stomping Ground, a non-profit children's sleep away camp located at the base of the Adirondack Mountains.4 She founded the camp in 2015 with her partner Jack.14

Laura holds a Master of Social Work (MSW) degree from Columbia University.2 Her passion for equity and inclusivity greatly influences the camp's commitments and programming.2 She is known for her creativity and background as an artist, which is reflected in the camp's atmosphere and activities.2

In addition to her role at Stomping Ground, Laura is involved in the larger camp community as a thought leader. She facilitates trainings on Restorative Justice and works to create spaces that promote social justice and radical empathy.23

Recently, on February 14, 2025, Laura announced that she is joining forces with Careina Yard on the Board of Directors, expressing excitement about the collaboration.5
