On behalf of Invest in Canada | Investir au Canada, I’m proud to announce the release of our FDI Report 2023!

In 2023, Canada continued its strong growth trajectory by attracting $62.3 billion in foreign direct investment (FDI) and outpaced the 10-year average by nearly 14%. Canada ranked 2nd in the world for FDI confidence in 2023, with 660 projects announcements and a forecast of 29,000 jobs. As well, global companies already operating in Canada actively reinvested, making up nearly 44% of FDI for the year, sending a strong message that Canada is a key partner in their strategies for long-term growth. The USA, Netherlands, United Kingdom, Switzerland and Germany were the top five source countries overall.

Sustainable FDI in 2023 (including investments in clean technologies, clean energy transition, and alternative proteins) reached $26.7 billion, nearly tripling the 5-year average of $9.7 billion. With 29% of all inbound FDIs marking a significant increase of 110% over the 5-year average, Canada continues to establish itself as a leader in sustainable investments.     We are proud of the economic development ecosystem in Canada, and the collaborative work with all our partners to achieve these results. We welcome you to read the full 2023 report here: https://lnkd.in/emaxGSfQ   #InvestInCanada #BesttoInvest
