Highlights
I don't often shout about work I've done (and maybe I should do more) but this year, there are two projects that really stand out: WaveOfThanks, our billboard campaign thanking educators for their efforts over the pandemic and Bears of Sheffield.
In the first, Wave of Thanks, my team created an incredible 455 pieces of billboard artwork in little over a week, thanking 282 schools, gaining 19.4 million impressions! And alongside that, we created some beautiful merch, sent in gift bundles to schools nominated by the public. The schools also seemed happy, which was lovely to see!
The second, the long awaited Bears of Sheffield sculpture trail and auction (delayed by the pandemic, I designed and painted the bear, named Rory, featuring a beautiful poem by my colleague Andrew Newbound in 2020). Watching children and their parents interact with the sculpture was one of the best moments of the summer, it was exactly like I'd imagined...and then it went and sold for £6000, contributing to the £525,200(!!!) raised for Sheffield Children's Hospital.
So thanks to my amazing team & colleagues Beth Penycate, Georgina Smith, Rees Pashley, Georgia Beard, Ellen Lavelle, Alan Flindt, James & Kat... And if anyone knows who bought the bear, I'd love to know!
Made it to my first Creative Morning yesterday, illustrator Tom J Newell talking about ends being new beginnings & embracing the journey rather than focusing solely on the end point, a super start to Friday! #cmsheffield #cmend
