Highlights
I recently returned from an amazing experience participating in the Milan Immersion program with the Institute of Design (ID) and POLIMI Graduate School of Management. The experience exceeded my expectations. It was a privilege to learn from Claudio Dell'Era and Michele Melazzini and to work with Polimi's graduate students for the week.
Each me and my fellow ID students were given a group of Polimi graduate students to work with. We were all tasked with the design challenge to design the distant future of 'Human Well-being' and everyday we were given a specific design framework to execute. Enrico Scotti, Diletta Causin, Celine Massoud, and I worked together to develop a distant future that would change our current age of loneliness. We developed a future that fosters connection through a tech-driven concept of ‘smart cities’ where technology served as a conduit for meaningful human connection. I learned so much from them.
We also traveled to Italian design firms IL Prismo and Mido as well as visited the Achilles Castiglioni Foundation and the Triennale Museum. We listened to incredible guest speakers Marzia Aricò, Peter Skillman (he/him) 🇺🇸🇺🇦🇳🇱, Enrico Gambi, Marzia Battaglia, Roberto Battaglia, and Monica Dalla Riva. It was incredibly insightful and inspiring to hear from these design leaders.
It was a powerful week! I would like to thank both Jessica Meharry and Anijo Mathew for this opportunity. And of course to my classmates, Dennis Siegert, Sai Allena, Yiwen Teng, Benedicta Gokah, Eva Mariana Althaus, and Kate N. for an unforgettable experience.
I’m happy to share that I’m soon starting as a Masters Student at the Institute of Design at Illinois Institute of Technology in their Masters in Design program! I look forward to building my skillset in the area of innovation and design strategy.
Chicago here I come 🎉
