As the Senior Program Manager for Leadership Programming at the Banff Centre for Arts and Creativity, she played a pivotal role in developing programs that inspire creativity and foster leadership skills among emerging artists and community leaders. Her ability to envision innovative and impactful programming helped elevate the Banff Centre's reputation as a premier institution in the arts and educational sectors.
In addition to her contributions at the Banff Centre, Laurie served as the Manager of Community Programs (National) at Mountain Equipment Co-op, where she was instrumental in facilitating community engagement initiatives that promote outdoor activity and sustainability. Her leadership at the Outdoor Recreation Council of BC as the Associate Executive Director saw her advocating for outdoor recreation policies that benefit both the environment and the community. Moreover, Laurie’s dedication to outdoor education is evidenced through her experience as an instructor with the National Outdoor Leadership School, where she instilled a passion for outdoor exploration in the next generation of leaders.
