After completing her formal education, Laurien embarked on her career with internships at notable organizations, such as the University of Twente and Galeazzi Design in Italy. These positions allowed her to apply her theoretical knowledge in practical settings, gaining invaluable experience that would shape her design philosophy. After her internships, Laurien worked significantly at Philips where she engaged in both her Bachelor and Master Graduation projects, further solidifying her understanding of product design at the industrial level.
She transitioned into the role of User Experience Designer & Researcher at s.point design, where her skills in user-centered design were paramount in crafting engaging, intuitive user experiences. As a Freelance Industrial Designer, Laurien had the opportunity to collaborate with various clients, bringing a fresh approach to design challenges, and showcasing her versatility in adapting to different project requirements.
