Had a great experience at 2024 Google I/O!
First thing, our work at Universal Destinations & Experiences was featured in a really well-done vignette highlighting the partnership between Universal and Google/Flutter. This is a huge accomplishment for everyone on both teams who made this happen, and special shout out to our marketing wizard Jordan Balvitsch who coordinated multiple large corporations + IP holders in a short timeline to allow the video to come together.
And there is so much more we have in-flight and planned that we couldn't quite share yet - this new app launch is just the beginning. The upcoming launch of Epic Universe in 2025 is going to be the cornerstone, but it not even close to everything we're doing.
This is clearly the Year of AI at Google I/O and other similar events. It is really fun to be in our space in this time, as there is so much we can do with AI in terms of augmenting and personalizing our guest experience and truly making Universal the most technologically advanced and immersive destination experience in the world. We have lots of great ideas and plans, and love being in a position where our team can turn these into reality!
And, the case any of this sounds interesting, we have roles open 😁 https://lnkd.in/eFxDn3YK

This week marked the successful completion of a huge 2-year-long project for Universal Destinations and Experiences.
This Monday, with the launch of Universal Studio Hollywood's new mobile app, we now have rewritten all of our in-park mobile apps in Flutter from the ground up. Having a brand new app puts us in a position where we can innovate, run fast, and build industry-leading mobile experiences.
It is a huge privilege to have been part of this effort that started well before I joined Universal, and it has been an effort spanning hundreds of people across our organization and others. Our apps have 100k+ DAUs, and we aim to ensure each and every one of them has an incredible experience while at Univeral parks.
This is just the beginning - we have a ambitious roadmap for 2024 and beyond that includes supporting the first new theme park in the US in 20+ years, and many other surprises outside of that we can't quite share yet. Stay tuned!
