I've been reflecting on some recent experiences in L&D that have kept me busy over the last few months. Last night, I spent some time thinking about what I wanted to share and how these experiences bring value to my work, yadda yadda. You know? ✨ a classic Linkedin post ✨.

Even though, I want to share my wins because a lot of discipline and time was done from my part to do these, (aside from working a full-time job, leading a team and having a social life 💅), I somehow felt happier thinking of my mini-wins 🌟. The ones that kept me grounded, that kept my nervous-system in check, the ones that most likely nobody will cheer me for (or that I will get a certification for it) because they are not seen as part of the productivity scale. So here goes:

My big wins ✨ I have officially finished my intermediate level for Non-Violent Communication course, where I spend after work hours learning to create empathy space and strengthen my conflict resolution skills. ✨I am busy with MailerLite & CaseHub doing a 3-month leadership program, learning to adapt leadership methods into my team and progress further. ✨With a lot of joy, I'm finishing my cacao facilitator program where I get to bring the joy of this plant to people's heart ❤️ 🍫

But onto my mini-wins (which are actually my pride and joy ⭐) 🌟 I adjusted my Slack setting, so I don't receive notification before 9am. Allowing my cortisol levels to adjust to the day before going into work mode. 🌟 For the last 5 months, I meditate 3 times a day to keep myself grounded, learning the art of doing nothing and loving the act of creating space. 🌟 Co-regulating! Whenever I am overwhelmed, I share it more often with others. What a beautiful thing that we live in space of togetherness. 🌟 A daily, one-pager in my journal focused on three sections: affirmations, little joy of the day (where I focus on gratitude) and love for Lay, where I basically give myself a bunch of kudos. 🌟 I deleted the Instagram app and can only access this via my laptop, which has help with endless scrolling. 🌟 I have a kindness reminder on my phone: where it sends me cute messages as to remind myself of all the goodness there is.

I hope we can embrace a world where we are kinder to ourselves and see how many wins (of all sizes) we've made in this lifetime ❤️

Let’s be honest, dealing with any type of community is basically like being in a small town and you being the town Mayor.

There will be some that will come to you about a traffic light 🚦 being dangerous to the town, and others that will come to you about their cat not being able to climb down the tree and if you can please allocate the fire department 👩‍🚒 resources to get them down 😬. All of which are very valid to the person that comes to you with their concerns. And like in any town meetings where there’s a gavel 👩‍⚖️ and a group of people that have needs to be met and filled, there's something to always keep in mind.

A very obvious but powerful nonetheless pointer on how to deal with a community. STAY CURIOUS

▶ How did the cat 🐈 get on the tree? Is this happening to other cats in the town?  ▶ They must feel afraid and worried about the cat. ▶ What words can I use to let them feel seen ▶ Do they want me to find a solution right this instance for this cat in the tree, or do they just need someone to listen to them? ▶ How can I solve this kitty 🐈 problem long term? ▶ How am I reacting to this story? ▶ Am I being compassionate enough? Am I really listening?  ▶ What are the first actionable steps I can take for this person to feel we’re headed in the right direction 👩‍🏫

As you engage with community members, let curiosity guide your approach 🌞
