Highlights
People buy books. Publishers realize revenue. And also, some AI is okay. Here's 500 Words for this week. Read it or listen to me read it at the link.
Writing about AI has been part of my creative work for more than a year now. Things I made up for my first novel, Surrender, have come true. I imagined talking to an AI as if it was your friend. I thought that AI would control the climate. I wondered if an all-powerful corporation might try to control what we thought. So much of that has come true. I can't write fiction fast enough before it manifests in the real world.
And, by the way, I'm not going for a dystopian vision. I want to explore our relationship with AI -- as a companion, boss, coworker, and assistant. All are possible.
As a reviewer said on Amazon about my second book, "Resist was unexpectedly insightful into human nature and our relationship with AI."
