Lenore Blum is a highly accomplished academic who has dedicated her career to promoting diversity and innovation in STEM fields. With a background in Mathematics and Architecture from prestigious institutions like MIT and Carnegie Mellon University, she has filled various key roles at Carnegie Mellon University, UC Berkeley, and other organizations. Lenore is celebrated for her efforts in increasing the participation of women in computer science, with notable achievements such as having 50% of new computer science majors at Carnegie Mellon being women. As a founder of Project Olympus, an innovation center driving Pittsburgh's growth, Lenore has played a pivotal role in fostering the regional innovation economy. Her passion for bridging different fields and communities is evident in her work as a Visiting Chair Professor at Peking University and a Consulting Co-Director at the SCS Conscious AI Center at Carnegie Mellon University.
