5G is not a failure. The hype is.
Hype betrays the technology and sets it back. For this reason, don’t demonize the technology, blame the people who peddle the hype and set the wrong direction of thinking, investment, and narrative. The damage is done if we keep asking ourselves if 5G has failed, right? I was recently on an RCR Wireless News webinar on this question.
It is abundanty clear that the hype has been a disservice to an essential technology domain that has been and continues to be wrought of amazing research and development by companies and engineers on both sides of the air interface making huge bets and investments in transformative invention, innovation and the future.
Don’t repeat the nonsense for 6G lest it never happen.
Marketing teams especially, check yourself before you wreck yourself as the saying goes. The business of nonsense is bad business and never works out. Keep it real for the sake of your company and your brand!
