Leonardo Banchik is a prominent figure in the field of climate tech ventures, currently spearheading early-stage initiatives at Voyager Ventures.

With a rich history in the investment realm, Leonardo previously held a partnership position at Global Founders Capital, focusing on climate and deep tech investments.

Before transitioning to venture capital, he honed his expertise at McKinsey as an advisor on deep-tech and sustainable investing, collaborating with funds and supporting energy transition strategies for green startups and established industry players.

Leonardo's academic journey is impressive, earning both a PhD and MS in Mechanical Engineering from the prestigious Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), where he specialized in desalination and renewables. His educational foundation also includes a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Nevada-Las Vegas.

Throughout his career, Leonardo has worn many hats, having been a founder and operator at two startups, a scientist at two U.S. National Laboratories, and a policy researcher at the U.S. Department of Energy's Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy (DOE EERE).

His professional experience encompasses a diverse range of roles, including Investment Director at Voyager Ventures, Angel Investor in his self-owned venture, Partner and Global Climate Tech Head at Global Founders Capital, Senior Engagement Manager at McKinsey & Company, Product Manager at Sandymount Technologies, and Founder and CEO at OleoSep.

Additionally, Leonardo has been actively involved in various organizations and research endeavors, such as being the Co-President of the MIT Water Club, a Copiapó Water Metabolism Study Researcher at MIT, a Graduate Researcher under the National Science Foundation Fellowship at MIT, a researcher at Oak Ridge National Laboratory and Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, and a Policy Analyst at the U.S. Department of Energy. He has also contributed his expertise as a researcher at the University of Nevada Las Vegas' Center for Energy Research.
