Highlights
And so it ends... Our term on the board of the SPS-NIP at the University of Amsterdam has come to a conclusion. It has been an absolute honor to contribute to the success of this organization, but most importantly, to work alongside these four incredible human beings.
As someone who returned to school at a later age, I never felt like the 'oldie' here, although Isa would teasingly remind me, 'you had a whole life before this! Despite the relatively short seven-year age difference, our interactions and perspectives on the world are super different. Working with such a different generation has been incredibly eye-opening (and fun!) in my ongoing journey as I witnessed their eagerness to make a difference, the challenges posed by this new always-connected world, and their deep self-awareness - a trait often seen in the younger generation, who begin discussing these topics much earlier.
Each of them has inspired me in their own way. David Wandel with his innate leadership and talent for bringing everyone together, effectively organized and sustained motivation throughout. Sofie Schouten, our creative super organized soul, who ensured our events were always fully booked (one reached 300+ attendees!). Isa Tordoir, incredibly capable and proficient, always asking the important questions and ensuring that our budget always remained in the green. And Jason Biedroński, who effortlessly managed to align all our activities ensuring we stayed on track, and quietly doing everything that goes unnoticed when things are going well.
Together, we organized seven events for our community of psychology students, covering topics from positive psychology to workshops on imposter syndrome and mindfulness, a field trip to Altrecht to connect with clinical psychologists, and a memorable event about Focus in collaboration with the The Offline Club® .
What an experience! Thank you 🔮
And, thank you my dear friend Alexia Marchand for passing on your legacy and giving me the opportunity to be a part of this.
"You host retreats in Portugal? That’s awesome! So many of my friends want to do one, but don’t know where to go. Could you tell me more?” 🔮 I hear this more and more often, and it’s wonderful to see people investing in their wellbeing and choosing to spend their holidays on recharging experiences in peaceful places. It’s clear that self-care is becoming a priority, with increasing awareness of #mentalhealth, companies investing in their employees' #wellbeing, and doctors constantly raising alarms about the dangers of stress and its related diseases. Taking time to go on a #retreat is a powerful way to turn this around and boost your mental and physical health. We see an increasing amount of retreats being offered, especially in #Portugal where this industry is booming. However, it can be overwhelming to choose the right retreat, especially when the investment is significant and you’re not sure where to go. 😊 So, if you feel you are one of these people or know someone who is, here is the link for our upcoming retreat. You can refer to the testimonials we’ve received over the years as a testament to the quality of our service. Oh, and one last thing - don't miss out on our super special early bird €100 discount until the end of the month. Sign-ups have already begun pouring in, and there are only 2 private rooms with shared bathroom available. Will you join this experience? Let's goooooo 🔥
