The average age at which children in the UK receive their first smartphone is around 10 to 11 years old 🤯.

However, this average can vary, with some children receiving smartphones as early as 8 or 9, particularly when parents want to keep in touch with their kids during school and extracurricular activities.

This is crazy imo...I'm so pleased that the movement to delay giving children a smartphone is gaining momentum.

This visualisation is really powerful for me, imagine being sent into school in the 80s/90's like this, the burden would be unbearable but that's essentially what we're doing to our kids if we give them unfettered access too early.

I'm a big fan of initiatives like https://lnkd.in/eCxzy4xZ.

I'd be very interested to hear what age you feel it's responsible to give children unrestricted access and what tips/tricks you've employed to mitigate any negative impact.
